Threads
QuirkyMeta's Twitter alternative. API is new, limits are still stabilizing.
Overview
Threads is Meta's newest platform. The official API launched in June 2026 and is still iterating. Flayr posts via the public Meta Threads API through Zernio; long-term rate limits have not yet been published.
Daily posting limits
- Posts per day250 posts (per API docs)
- Caption length500 characters
- Replies per day1,000 replies
New account rules
Threads inherits the posting-account-age signals from Instagram. A fresh Threads account tied to a verified IG Business profile gets full limits from day one. Stand-alone Threads accounts are still being rate-shaped in the first week.
Content type restrictions
- Video lengthUp to 5 minutes
- Image size8MB per image
- Post mediaUp to 20 media items per post
Rate limits
Graph API: same 200 calls/hour user ceiling as Instagram. Business accounts get 4,800. Flayr uses Zernio's Business-tier access so the user-level limit is rarely a practical concern.
Known issues
- Threads scheduling via Meta Business Suite does not propagate to Flayr drafts — use Flayr to schedule.
- Link previews are OEmbed only, not card-style. Expect smaller click-through.
Recent platform changes
- 2026-03-02Threads API added media-attachment endpoint. Zernio rolled it out — Flayr users get image attachments automatically.
How Flayr handles this
Flayr auto-links Threads posts to the user's IG Business profile so limits come from the mature IG side, not the newer Threads ramp curve. Scheduling is canonical in Flayr — the Meta Business Suite scheduler isn't read-compatible yet.
