Overview

TikTok is the most aggressive algorithm in social — early engagement velocity within the first 60 minutes decides whether a post reaches 500 views or 500,000. Flayr optimizes for posting during audience-specific peak windows.

Daily posting limits

  • Videos per day
    30 videos
  • Caption length
    2,200 characters
  • Hashtags per post
    100 hashtags (pragmatic: 5-8)

New account rules

New accounts are capped near 5 videos/day for the first week. TikTok soft-blocks accounts that post >10 videos/day in the first 14 days. Flayr throttles the queue accordingly.

Content type restrictions

  • Video length
    15s – 10 minutes
  • Video file size
    1GB mobile / 4GB desktop
  • Aspect ratio
    9:16 preferred (full-screen)

Rate limits

Content Posting API: 6 posts per day per account (official hard cap at the API level). Research API: 1,000 calls/day. Flayr uses the Content Posting API through Zernio for authenticated posts.

Known issues

  • API caps posts at 6/day even if platform UI allows 30. Flayr surfaces the limit pre-publish.
  • Music from the Commercial Music Library only — consumer music gets stripped on API uploads.
  • Scheduled posts via the API can lag up to 5 minutes vs the requested time.

Recent platform changes

  • 2026-03-25
Content Posting API daily cap was temporarily reduced to 4/day for 48 hours during a stability rollback. Zernio auto-absorbed the difference.

How Flayr handles this

Flayr caps daily posts at the API limit (6) regardless of platform UI claims, auto-swaps consumer music for Commercial Music Library tracks, and warns on aspect ratios that will letterbox.
